About HCBS Explorer

HCBS Explorer is a business intelligence and analytics tool that uses Tableau software to present SAMS data in a dynamic, powerful, and visual way. 

Through the partnership of EOEA and UMass Medical School, we have been able to develop a comprehensive and robust reporting system that not only allows for daily operational discovery and direction, but also enables you to perform more complex analytics for quality assurance, program integrity, and research.

New Account Request

New accounts for the HCBS Explorer Reports System can be requested via the Elder Affairs SIMS Ticketing (EAST) System. Each agency has designated contact persons who can submit the following forms for processing.

Note: Processing of these request includes an approval period for EOEA and a processing period with UMass. Request can take up to two weeks but are usually available within one week of request.

Adult Protective Service (APS) Activity Index Units Report

With the changes to the Protective Services ongoing services billing methodology, we have developed a new HCBSExplorer report, APS Activity Index Units Report, to replace the Protective Services invoice Excel spreadsheet posted to 800AgeInfo. This report has the monthly units for all the PS activities and provides the case numbers associated with each billable unit. Below is a link to instructions on to access the report and download the case information. This report will be available on the 15^th of each month.
